I'm now 1 year into my first software job at http://www.songkick.com, after spending 3 years writing Prolog at college and 3 years writing Ruby for fun. I live in London, run Ubuntu and use Emacs.
Craftmanship to me means that I'm not on my own. I'm part of a profession with established practices and patterns, and I don't have to make it up as I go along. Software is different to other professions in that no one can agree on what those best practices are exactly :), but they exist.
