Programming In The Small

Presenters: Ivan Moore & Mike Hill

Style: Interactive Tutorial

Length: 90 mins

Outline:

Mike & Ivan will lead participants
through a series of small refactoring exercises, each designed to
bring out a particular learning point from Ivan's "Programming in the
Small" blog series
(http://ivan.truemesh.com/archives/cat_programming_in_the_small.html).
We will intersperse each programming episode with a small group
discussion. The programming language will be Java.

not sure on timings but will be of the format:
-look at some code
-make it better in some way described in the "Programming in the
Small" blog series (or possibly something not covered in that series)
-discuss whether/why it is better
-repeat

Aimed At: developers - any level up to but not including Joe Walnes (he's not
barred - it just wouldn't teach him anything)
