I spend most of my time either delivering systems or trying to help others deliver systems. Early adopter of XP in the UK. Chequered career in software including bespoke, shrink-wrap, and academic research. Old enough to be a "Master", although not sure whether the title applies (or how).
My interest in Software Craftsmanship is to try encourage some kind of recognition that skill and experience matters, and that this needs to come from a variety of situations. Remember that Journeymen were so called because they had to travel and work for different Masters. Anyone who's visited any of the London guild halls knows that we'll be a real profession when we have closed entry and can afford some fancy buildings.
